About FPSC

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is a federal government organization in Pakistan that is in charge of recruiting civil employees and bureaucrats for the government.

In 1926, the Public Service Commission was established for the first time under British colonial administration. The commission was founded in Pakistan after independence in 1947 under the provisions of the Government of Pakistan Act.

The commission is now operating under Article 242 of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s constitution. The FPSC Regulations, 1978, and the Rules of Business, 1973 govern its operations. The panel has also been given administrative and, to some extent, legal authority.

The commission is made up of a chairman and other members. Under Article 242 (IA) of the Pakistani Constitution (1973), the chairman is selected at the discretion of the President of Pakistan. The members are appointed by the president on the advice of Pakistan’s Prime Minister. The secretary assists the commission by acting as a liaison between the commission, its secretariat, and government entities.

  • Interested candidates should apply online at www.fpsc.gov.pk.
  • Candidates who do not have access to the Internet may submit their applications on plain paper to the Secretary of the FPSC, along with all relevant information and papers.
  • Candidates must deposit a test fee of Rs. 300/- for BS-16 and 17, Rs. 750/- for BS-18, Rs. 1200/- for BS-19, and Rs. 1500/- for BS-20 and above, and you must enter the deposit slip number in the online application form or attach the original deposit slip with the application form if applying by post.
  • The test and interview schedule are shown in the graphic below, and candidates must adhere to it to be hired.
  • Candidates must bring their original papers to the interview.

    Answer: A candidate who fails to obtain at least 40% in any required subject, 33% in any optional subject, and 50% in the aggregate shall be judged to have failed the written examination.
